Powick Common Viaduct

The Powick Common Viaduct is a vital part of the Worcester Southern Relief Road upgrade, supporting the transformation of the A4440 into a dual carriageway. ABM Precast Solutions supplied 20.5m and 16.5m W5 Beams, Deck Edge Parapets, and deck slabs, all engineered to meet the demands of a high-traffic route and deliver long-term durability.

This project was integral to the dualling of the A4440 Southern Link Road, a key bypass and river crossing for Worcester. Before the upgrade, the route suffered from heavy congestion, particularly at peak times. The Powick Common Viaduct required high-specification beams and components to support increased traffic volumes and deliver safety and reliability for years to come. Timely resolution was critical to ease congestion, improve journey times, and enhance connectivity between important regional destinations.
