12 May: New Diaphragm Formwork System speeds construction and improves safety

The largest application of ABM’s new Diaphragm Formwork System (DFS) forms part of the new Bletchley Flyover, where East West Rail crosses the West Coast Mainline. The system provides a vertical permanent formwork solution between prestressed beams to form the front face of the in-situ cast diaphragm. 12 May: Delivered – Bletchley Flyover Reconstruction

ABM manufactured and delivered over 3,500 tonnes of precast concrete to East West Rail Alliance’s Bletchley Flyover Reconstruction project. The 103 prestresed beams and 45 cill beams were successfully installed by EWRA during blockade of the West Coast Mainline railway. For the full story see EWR Bletchley.

11 May: Airport City – Connected!

Some of the widest precast concrete units ever moved by ABM support the new Airport City bridge at Manchester Airport. At 6.0m wide, the 6.5m tall GLD pier posed significant challenges, but working closely with our logistics partner the unit was successfully delivered ready for installation next to the M56 Spur Road.
